Becoming a Better Communicator
by Mac Hammond
Have you ever known a person whose primary method of communication seemed to be a verbal attack? A person who tends to communicate that way isn't necessarily a bad person. They've simply developed that pattern of communication as a result of insecurity, frustration or a feeling that they themselves are under attack.
How should you respond? The Bible says, "A soft answer turns away wrath." The next time you're on the receiving end of such an attack, try responding with a soft answer. Have you developed the ability to defuse hostile communication? It will serve you well as a leader.
