Cruz Won’t Sue National Enquirer Because It’s True, Rubio PI’s Dug It Up, Not Trump- Roger Stone

Ted Cruz can’t put the Genie that Marco Rubio let out back into the bottle; all he can do is attempt to bluster his way through the revelations of his indiscretions by blaming his current opponent. He’s utilizing Alinsky/Obama 101 tactics.

Roger Stone, author and Trump insider, joined Frank Morano for an Easter morning interview in which he addresses the issue of the National Enquirer story about the ladies Ted Cruz is reported to have been intimate with.  Morano begins with the acknowledgment, even by the New York Times, that the claims were initially brought up by the Marco Rubio campaign, asking how can it be that Trump is the source when they already acknowledge that it was a different opponent in their own stories.

Stone sees it as an “attempt at deflection,” noting that the private detectives which were specifically cited by the National Enquirer were working for and paid by the Marco Rubio campaign. He also notes his beliefs that the decision was made not to use the information, that it was collected as a hedge against Rubio’s own personal embarrassments being exposed. He believes the detectives sold the information to the National Enquirer on their own after Rubio got out, getting paid a second time for the work they had already done. He also notes that it is the policy of the National Enquirer to only pay for information they can confirm, an indication that there may be more to come.

Stone says, “I can tell you categorically that I did not plant the story with the National Enquirer, and them blaming Donald Trump or his campaign is somewhat outrageous. I never discussed this with Donald or with anyone in his campaign. He says he still stands by his on-the-record comments made to the National Enquirer. He recognizes that the story could be quite damaging to Cruz because of the squeaky clean, morally superior image that he attempts to portray.

The hypocrisy of Ted Cruz is the problem, Stone Believes, asking, “Where is his lawsuit? Where’s his $100 million lawsuit against the National Enquirer? The National Enquirer’s been sued before, in most cases unsuccessfully. But this is very much like the John Edwards case, when the Washington Post, who is chasing this story, or the Associated Press, who is chasing this story, the dirty little secret here is this isn’t just the National Enquirer. Every major media organization in the country is pursuing this particular story and they are well-familiar with the names. He notes the payment of a half million dollars in what he believes was hush money to the Carly Fiorina campaign on behalf of one of the women or through their combined manipulation.

He points out that the two, Cruz and Fiorina, despise each other; it’s difficult to imagine any other reason for the transaction.

Stone is asked about Cruz and his supporters’ assertions that the relationship between Trump and the owner of the National Enquirer is evidence that a smear on behalf of a friend is underway. Stone asks, “And risk a $100 million law suit? Stone says, “I repeat, Frank, where is the lawsuit? If Lyin’ Ted’s telling the truth, if this is all lies, I challenge him to sue, I threaten him to sue, I want him to sue. Sue immediately, because that would kind of get people to say, ‘Okay, Ted is obviously telling the truth.’ He won’t sue. Why won’t he sue? It won’t cost him anything, he’s a lawyer himself.”

“To be absolutely clear,” says Stone, “Ted Cruz won’t sue because the allegations are largely true, that’s why he won’t sue. He believes Trumps response in the upcoming Wisconsin town hall will be along those lines. Put up or shut up; sue and if you don’t, we’ll know why.

He reminds the listeners that Ted Cruz is a George Bush Republican who supported NAFTA and TPP, and who wrote the Bush wasteful reckless spending plan. He asks, “You like our current immigration policies? Ted Cruz wrote those plans.

They get into the Trump position that the countries we provide protection to need to start paying some of their own way, which has been a belief of Mr. Trump’s for thirty years. He says it’s time for Uncle Sam to stop being taken for a sucker and for our allies to pay their fair share.
