I am not a hunter. It’s not that I don’t want to be one, I’ve just never had the opportunity. I live in a big city, so unless you count the occasional coyote as game, the pickings are slim. My feelings on hunting are that is it puts food on someone’s table and that meat does not go to waste, then go ahead. We need meat to survive. We have been killing animals for centuries. It’s the reason we still have the human race. And yet there are still those who say we don’t need meat. I respect their reasons. Each to their own. However, when it comes to those among us who spew hate towards people who hunt even though though they, only days before, they chewed down on a lovely, tender T-Bone and paid $20 for the pleasure, that’s when I take the gloves off. As far as I’m concerned, if you can eat fish, game or any other meat that someone else has killed for you, you have absolutely no argument whatsoever in complaining about people hunting animals. In fact, I’d go that little bit further and say that all of us meat eaters should, at least once, kill his or her own meal. It would be very interesting to see just how many would do that and just how many would rather have someone else do it “humanely.”
Speaking of killing, let’s turn our attention to the news that broke as lead story in our media outlets this week, as well as managing to bring out the rage of millions of social media users across the world. The news so barbaric, it was the topic of conversations on network talk shows and has seen some of the most famous celebrities on this planet take to their Twitter and Facebook pages to condemn the actions. The crime so heinous, that Jimmy Kimmel BROKE DOWN when talking about it on his show. So disgusting, that the office where the perpetrator works and his family home have been targeted by people who want his blood. The feelings of this crime were clear; “MURDERER!” “DIE!” “YOU DISGUST ME!” “YOU AND YOUR FAMILY SHOULD BE HUNG!” “HOW WOULD LIKE THE SAME THINGTO HAPPEN TO YOU?” “I WILL KILL YOU!” There was no denying that this was the thing that set people off more than any other news item that week. The outrage was more than the Iran nuclear deal, more than a black woman dying in prison and more than any “racist” flag. This was the crime that tipped us over the edge. It was the taking of life. It was plain murder. Cecil The Lion was dead.
Now, before I return to Cecil, think about the above paragraph and ask yourself what other story deserved the outrage described. Which other news broke this week that describes (or SHOULD as the case may be) the EXACT same feelings as those mentioned? Then ask yourself which story DESERVES that outrage and attention of that above but, despicably, didn’t get more than a glance from anyone outside the right? I give you Planned Parenthood and the selling of aborted baby parts. Only in the world we live in and a country that is so wildly manipulated by a liberal media, could a the killing of a famous lion create more news, more outrage and more want for justice that the murder of a human life. A human life that is just starting out this beautiful, amazing journey of growth. How far have we fallen as a society and as humans, where we can sit back and remain silent, sometimes even JUSTIFY the murder of something so precious and then do nothing—or if you’re the left, deflect and deny—when VIDEO EVIDENCE is presented of two women, two butchers, two disgusting humans talk openly about how they BREAK FEDERAL LAW and sell the parts of aborted babies and how they “want to use the money to buy a Lamborghini.” I’ll tell you how far. We’ve reached the very, very bottom of the barrel. I fear for us all.
As for Cecil the Lion? The “hunter” who killed him broke the law and it was a terrible thing to happen to such a majestic beast. He lured him out of his park and tracked him for 40 hours before killing him, without noticing the giant collar he was wearing which indicated that he was not fair game. He then shot him with an arrow, killed him and beheaded him. He is a disgrace to the real hunters out there and must be punished. But that’s where my views end, because you know what other situation sees a beheading? Abortion. And there is NOTHING you can say to me, and nothing you can present to me, that will put that anywhere near the same as killing a lion. This is what should cause the rage, cause the outcry and cause people like Jimmy Kimmel to break down in tears. Until we realize that, we will never, ever be able to call ourselves human.
